Accommodation
Due to a surging number of students it is quite difficult to find an accommodation in Münster right now. In some dormitories there is a long waiting list. Please start looking for an accommodation as soon as possible and try to check the private housing market, too.
More than 80% of exchange students in Münster live in student dormitories. Many of them are satisfied with their accomodation but there have also been many complaints. Some students feel a little isolated and have difficulties with getting in touch with locals or fellow exchange students. Moreover, most student dormitories are pretty far away from the inner city. They are not necessarily the cheapest possibility to live in Münster. Exchange students have also encountered a latent inflexibility when it comes to moving out.
We encourage you strongly to also consider shared apartments. It is possible to live cheap and close to the center. The most important argument is getting in touch with Germans, of course. It takes a little more courage to look for a room on your own, but it may be a possibility to make your stay here more worthwhile. Just follow the links on these pages or post your query on our black board. (Wohnungsbörse)
